Medicines in our Backyard: An Autumn Plant Medicine Walk by the Water

By Sea Smart School Society (other events)

Saturday, October 5 2024 1:00 PM 3:00 PM PDT

ABOUT ABOUT

Celebrate the beginning of autumn by joining Sea Smart and Knowledge Carrier Lorelei Lyons for a Plant Medicine Walk! The walk will begin with a circle at Aintree House and continue towards Burnaby Lake. We will learn about a variety of Indigenous medicines, and Lorelei will share stories about the river, trees and plants, and how they have supported communities for thousands of years. We will end the workshop by learning the Algonquin Women’s Water song and reflecting on the importance of freshwater in our lives.

Please remember to bring water, a snack, and to dress for the weather! The walk will still take place in the event of rain.
